Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (HDFC) has informed that the Corporation on March 13, 2008, allotted 1,57,036 equity shares of Rs 10 each, pursuant to exercise of stock options under its Employees Stock Option Scheme (ESOS).

Post the said allotment the paid-up equity share capital of the Corporation would stand at Rs 283,89,43,180 consisting of 28,38,94,318 equity shares of Rs 10 each.

Stock Market : Allied Digital Services Ltd

Allied Digital Services Ltd has informed that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on March 11, 2008, inter alia, has approved the following:

1. Enhance the borrowing limit of the Company from the existing limit of Rs 100 Crores to Rs 750 Crores subject to the approval of the Shareholders of the Company.

2. Increase the Authorised Share Capital of the Company from Rs 20 Crores to Rs 25 Crores subject to the approval of the Shareholders of the Company.

3. Issue Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds, Depository Receipts and /or other appropriate securities up to an amount not exceeding USD 100 Million or its equivalent in International or Domestic currency subject to the approval of the Members and subject to the approval of the concerned authorities as applicable

4. Issue Equity Shares or Fully Convertible Debentures, partly Convertible Debentures or any security other than warrants which are convertible into or exchangeable with the Equity Shares for an aggregate sum upto USD 100 Million or its equivalent in International or Domestic Market to qualified Institutional buyers (as defined by SEBI (DIP) Guidelines, 2000) pursuant to a qualifies Institutions placement, as provided in the Chapter XIII A of SEBI (DIP) Guidelines, 2000.

5. Invest in the Equity Shares of Digicomp Complete Solutions Pvt Ltd, a Company based in Bangalore and engaged in the business of Technical BPO, Reverse Logistics, Asset Recovery and RMA Services, so as to acquire at least 51% controlling interest in the said Company.

6. Ratification of the Employee Stock Option Scheme 2007 (ESOP 2007) of the Company (pre-IPO scheme) by the members, pursuant to Regulation 22.2A (a)(ii) of the SEBI (Employee Stock Option Scheme And Employee Stock Purchase Scheme) Guidelines, 1999.

Stock Market : Thomas Cook India Ltd

Thomas Cook India Ltd has announced that the Company on December 13, 2007 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with JTB Corp. Japan, one of the largest travel solutions Companies in the world.

The alliance will allow Thomas Cook to access the JTB Corp. network across 30 countries alongwith affiliates spreading over 800 offices. For JTB Corp. the alliance will provide a ready platform to enter the Indian market.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Udayan Bose, Chairman, of the Company said, “The year 2007 was designated as India-Japan Tourism Exchange Year. Both countries hope to increase the number of visitors between the two countries to approximately 300,000 by 2010, which will be nearly double that of the 2005. Hence, we are pleased to enter into an alliance with JTB Corp., the largest travel Company in Japan and one of the largest travel companies in the world. We see great potential in this co-operation across a wide range of travel activities including Leisure Outbound, Corporate Travel and Inbound Travel to India. In any case Japan was being looking at by us as a target country for inbound and outbound tourism. This co-operation will benefit both the Companies and countries immensely”.

Thomas Cook expects to witness growth in areas such as in-bound and out-bound tours. With this alliance, Thomas Cook also expects to see tremendous growth in its corporate travel business as it would now have access to the global relationships of JTB Corp. Mr. Madhavan Menon, Managing Director, of the Company said, “With business travel growing at the 20%, this alliance will provide further impetus to our corporate travel business.”

Every year with increasing number of travelers into India from Japan; JTB Corp. being the leader in the Japanese market, would be able to use the network of Thomas Cook to serve its clientele better. The travel cooperation arrangements would be for inbound, outbound and corporate travel across markets such as Japan, China, South-East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and America.

Stock Market Report

The market is trading firm as the buying is seen across all the counters. The global cues are supportive which gives a boost to the domestic market. The market breadth is strong as 2191 stocks are advancing and 535 stocks are declining.

At 11.30PM, the BSE Sensex is trading higher by 236.05 points at 20,166.73 and NSE Nifty is trading up by 89 points at 6,049.60.

Leading the rally from the gainers pack of BSE are Indo Rama trading higher by (12.14%) at Rs65.10 along with Pfizer by (8.34%) at Rs777, Lanco infra by (7.80%) at Rs651, Omaxe by (7.34%) at Rs561.80, Nalco by (6.52%) at Rs407.70

The Oil and Gas index is trading up by 236.65 points at 12,976.65. Scrips that gained are ONGC trading higher by (3.22%) at Rs1233 along with GAIL India by (2.63%) at Rs511.95, Cairn India by (2.07%) at Rs216.95, Reliance industries by (1.97%) at Rs2878.20

Bharti Airtel is trading higher by (2.98%) at Rs1002 as the company would start tower joint venture with 70,000 towers. The company has also offered Rs26.5bn to the department of telecommunications for a pan India Spectrum as an initial bid.

GAIL India is trading up by (2.4%) at Rs512 as the company and Reliance Gas Transportation Infrastructure have entered into an agreement for transmission of natural gas from the Krishna Godavari basin.

BHEL is trading higher by (1.68%) at Rs2720 as the company and NTPC are planning to float a joint venture company for engineering and construction work for power projects.

Reliance industries is trading higher by (1.95%) at Rs2878 as the company’’s unit RIL (Australia) Pty ltd has signed an uranium exploration agreement with Uranium exploration Australia limited. As per this agreement , RIL Australia will receive 49 pct interest in four of UXA’’s exploration licences in South Australia and four of UXA’’s exploration licence applications (ELAs) in the Northern Territory,
